Beresford joins York

York have goalkeeper problems with Alan Fettis suffering from a broken finger on his left hand and Russell Howarth refusing to play as he hopes to sign for Wolves. Third choice goalkeeper is Mark Hampshire is also out injured and that leaves just two untried keepers fit.

Manager Terry Dolan has therefore moved to sign Marlon on a short term contract, we believe it is for just one month.

Marlon has been at
Burnley but missed both friendlies last week apparently through injury. It was becoming apparent then that there was little likelihood of him joining Burnley and Stan did admit that he would have to go with just the one keeper.

The news that the popular keeper will not be at Burnley will be a disappointment to many fans but it cannot be a surprise given the current financial position. So it looks as though there will be no sub goalkeeper against Brighton with only youth team keeper James Salisbury providing any cover.
