Belgian in Holland linked with Clarets

Bob Peeters
The player in question is Belgian international striker Bob Peeters who according to our sources in the Netherlands is set to join the Clarets on loan. If this is so, and the deal becomes permanent, then it certainly won't be a Bosman deal. Peeters is currently under contract at his current club Vitesse Arnham until the end of the 2004/05 season.

Peeters has just had his 28th birthday and started his career in his home country Belgium with Lierse SK before moving to Holland with a transfer to Roda JC.

From Roda he moved on to his current club Vitesse Arnham after impressing with 50 goals in 127 games but he has found the goals harder to come by with his latest club. He has two full international caps for Belgium. According to our sources the deal is just about done and we can confirm that our sources are in Arnham.

There is no rush to get anyone in this week, any new signings would not be able to play in the FA Cup with the seven day deadline. With the Robbie Blake signing expected to be completed this week, a club source said yesterday that only the agent's fee is holding it up, there could be two new players in the squad by the time the TV cameras roll up for the next league game against West Brom.
