Beast is recovering

There’s good news though and after being checked out by the medical staff at the hospital next to Vicarage Road he was allowed to travel home on the team coach even though he was in some discomfort.

As of yet there is no confirmation as to when he might be fit to play again and certainly he won’t be involved this week with Danny Coyne returning to the side after being left out following the opening day defeat at Crewe.

“He’s very uncomfortable today but he’s okay,” manager Steve Cotterill said this morning. “There is no long term damage and that is a bonus. He’ll be pretty sore for a while and he did look a bit rough on Sunday,” he added.

The manager said of the injury, “When sixteen stone falls like it fell, something is going to give somewhere along the line. It was all coughing, spluttering and noise that was bad because we all know what sort of damage that can cause.

“We’ve got to leave him now because he can’t play with that, he’ll be struggling for a little while. We’ll just have to see.”
