Frank Casper
Casper signed for the Clarets in 1967 and in two spells was with the club until October 1991 when, following a 3-1 defeat at Scarborough, he resigned as manager and was replaced by Jimmy Mullen.

His playing career came to an end in January 1976 after an almost two year battle against injury which was sustained in a clash with Norman Hunter during a 4-1 win over Leeds at Elland Road. He was surely close to international honours at the time and was in the best form of his career.

He joined the coaching staff and in January 1983 became caretaker manager following the dismissal of Brian Miller. His first league game in charge was against tomorrow's opponents Barnsley and their manager at the time was none other than Norman Hunter.

He was in charge until the end of the season but after a spell as assistant boss at Bury he returned to Turf Moor once again replacing Miller as boss. This time he was in charge for over two and a half years and led us to the end of season play offs in 1991. He left the game later that year and went into business with a kit manufacturer.

Frank played 275 times for the Clarets, scoring 89 goals in total, the last of those goals came in 1975 when he scored the winner with a free kick against QPR.
