Bally's come to get ya

Bally had come third in the first of the two polls as Paul Cook sneaked in ahead of Richard Chaplow but in the second poll he was the convincing winner taking over 40% of the vote and that left him a clear winner over Chappy who collected just under 32%.

Tony Grant, recently released by the Clarets, was the only other player to take over 10% of the vote.

Kevin Ball’s Burnley career didn’t get off to the best of starts, he joined us just as we were setting off for the Isle of Man in 2000 and made his debut in that defeat against the Isle of Man team.

That was not a taster for what was to come though. He was a big influence on the side in which he was a virtual ever present (the odd suspension apart) during the two years he spent at the club – two years that have proved so far to be our best two seasons in thirty years.

He’ll be remembered for his leadership, his attitude and commitment as well as his ability and perhaps more than anything else will probably be remembered for a tackle on David Dunn that saw him get the first of his two red cards whilst a Claret.

His departure at the end of the 2001/02 season was a shock and there’s no doubt he was missed. It brought to an end a career of over 600 games.

So, the midfield is complete and now it is the forwards. The first of the polls is now running for the next three days.

The team so far is:

Marlon Beresford
Gary Parkinson
Gary Cahill
Steve Davis
Mo Camara
Glen Little
Kevin Ball
Paul Cook
David Eyres
