At least one change for Clarets

Luke Chadwick - could be fit to return
On Monday he sent Gareth Farrelly back to Bolton just about two weeks before the end of his loan spell and following his last two performances at Sheffield United and Derby I think most Burnley fans would have paid his bus fare. Stan somewhat diplomatically said it hadn’t worked out.

Delroy Facey remains for now although it is unlikely that he will be staying beyond his loan spell. After missing last week it is hoped that he will be fit to return tomorrow and there is also a chance that Luke Chadwick could return after his toe injury. Chadwick seems the obvious replacement for Farrelly and I suspect that it will be the only change to the side that started the defeat at Pride Park.

If that’s the case we will line up: Brian Jensen, Dean West, David May, Arthur Gnohere, Mo Camara, Glen Little, Richard Chaplow, Tony Grant, Luke Chadwick, Robbie Blake, Ian Moore. Subs from: Lee Roche, Mark McGregor, Graham Branch, Delroy Facey, Joel Pilkington, Matt O’Neill.

Should Chadwick be ruled out then Graham Branch could come in or if Facey is fit then it could see Moore moving into the wide position.

Visitors Rotherham are not without their problems either and they have been hit with both injuries and suspensions. However Ronnie Moore has a different philosophy than Stan and today he has registered two 17 year-olds to ensure he has a full bench of five players. The two are Craig Mudd and Gary Clayton and one of them will certainly be named as one of the five substitutes.

Mudd and Clayton will join another 17 year-old Will Hoskins in the squad and it was Hoskins who impressed so much in a recent reserve game at Turf Moor.

Their problems are due to an injury list that rules out Julian Baudet and Darren Garner (calf) and Rob Scott who is out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.

Nick Daws has been told he can leave the club but even so he is likely to miss out with an achilles injury whilst leading scorer Martin Butler is rated very doubtful after picking up a foot injury during training on Thursday.

To add to this they are without three players all serving suspensions. Goalkeeper Mike Pollitt has made a habit of handling the ball outside his penalty box this season and he’s out along with Stewart Talbot sent off in the home win against Franchise. The third is Guy Branston who has left them in a pickle by returning from a loan spell at Wycombe with a suspension.

Ronnie Moore has tried to bring in new players this week and they are reported to have made an offer for Mansfield striker Liam Lawrence although he has not signed as yet.

Rotherham’s expected team is: Gary Montgomery, Shaun Barker, Chris Swailes, Martin McIntosh, Paul Hurst, Chris Sedgwick, Carl Robinson, John Mullin, Paul Warne, Darren Byfield, Richie Barker. Subs: Scott Minto, Mark Robins, Andy Monkhouse, Will Hoskins plus one of Craig Mudd or Gary Clayton.
