Arthur's in the Team of the Week

And it was no surprise that the Claret to find his way into the team was a defender. There was no doubt that, as was the case at Brentford yesterday, our best three players were the goalkeeper and the two central defenders.

Disappointingly both Marlon Beresford and Driss Diallo were overlooked but Arthur Gnohere, not for the first time by any means, won himself a place in the top team.

Tommy Black, a player very much in form just now, was the Palace player in the team and again that could have come as no surprise. Black had an outstanding game last week, a continuation of his current form.

They do select teams on Cup weekends too but surprise, surprise we had no one in after the draw at Grimsby. Surely Marlon and Driss must be strong candidates again next week.

Last week’s team was:

Tony Warner (Millwall), Darren Ward (Millwall), Hayden Foxe (Portsmouth), Arthur Gnohere (Burnley), Danny Higginbotham (Derby), Muzzy Izzet (Leicester), David Prutton (Nottm. Forest), Tommy Black (Crystal Palace), Steve Reid (Millwall), Svetoslav Todorov (Portsmouth), Pablo Counago (Ipswich).
