Arthur is back

With Andy Todd in the Blackburn side tonight and David May still injured and rated doubtful with his hamstring injury Stan has had to act after last night’s defensive shambles.

There were calls for Arthur to come back before the Ipswich game but that didn’t happen and it didn’t appear there would be a change of heart. But it has all changed, presumably because our attempts to sign another central defender have not been successful.

Gnohere went to QPR at the beginning of September in a week that saw three players come in on loan with Glen Little also moving out on a temporary basis. Arthur’s loan period was extended and he actually scored a goal for Rangers in the LDV Vans Trophy last night.

He has been a major success in West London but he is now once again a Claret and will presumably go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game at West Ham.

There is no doubt that in the current crisis he is needed and it is good to see that we do have a defender back at the club to add to the squad.
