He's been on trial with the former Football League club and has impressed manager Jim Smith who knew about Arthur after he trialled with Portsmouth before he headed north and joined the Clarets.

Just over two years after joining us he was loaned out to QPR and that led to a permanent move there in early 2002. Despite signing a long term deal with the West London club his stay was just over a year after he was dismissed for disciplinary reasons.

After leaving QPR he had trials with a number of clubs but was hampered by a knee injury that kept him out of the game for over a year. Now fit again he played for Oxford in pre-season games against a number of good performances in pre-season.

They have eight games during his first month at the Kassam Stadium during which time he'll be hoping to win himself a more permanent deal and he's expected to make his league debut for them in their home game against Forest Green Rovers this Saturday.
