Ariyibi signs for Chesterfield

He'd originally been in the academy at Southampton after being scouted in the USA but wasn't offered a deal by then manager Mauricio Pochettino. He eventually signed for Leeds last December and made two substitute appearances for them before moving on loan to Tranmere where he made two further sub appearances.

He was with the Clarets on trial and I saw him play in games at both Chester and Padiham during this period, but he has since been on trial with the Spirites and has today signed a one year deal with them.

On completing his move, Ariyibi, who confirmed he'd turned down an offer from Burnley because he felt his opportunities would be greater in League One, said: "I just want to do well for the club. The manager (ex-Claret Paul Cook) believes in me and I just want to take my chance and show what I'm about."
