It's an incredible start to the season for Arfield, and he gave us another excellent all round performance down the right hand side, particularly in the second half when, despite the comments from some of the so called pundits (Jermaine Jenas?) we were very much the better side.
Arfield won 29.5% of the vote to take first place with debutant George Boyd coming second with a 21.8% share. Striker Lukas Jutkiewicz was third. He had 18.5% of the vote with his captain Jason Shackell securing 9.5% to take fourth place.
As has been the case previously this season, the top four in the man of the match vote were also the top four in the player ratings, although, as is usual, not in the same order.
Jutkiewicz was at the top with a rating of 7.94 out of 10 and that was just ahead of Arfield whose rating was 7.91. Shackell was third with a rating of 7.70 and 7.52 out of 10 won a fourth place for Boyd.
The result means Arfield wins another eight points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year with Jutkiewicz collecting seven points, Boyd four points and three points for Shackell.
Those points have extended Arfield's lead at the top to 16 points, now ahead of Jutkiewicz who has moved ahead of Michael Duff into second place, and Duff's lead over Shackell is now just one point.
The next vote will be for the Sunderland game and that gets underway on Saturday afternoon within an hour of the final whistle.
