Arfield is top man again

Last updated : 08 October 2014 By Tony Scholes

Arfield made it five man of the match awards out of seven with this latest performance and again he won the player ratings to make it a double.

His performance at Leicester had won him 34.6% of the man of the match vote when it closed last night with left back Ben Mee taking second place with a 29.2% share, the only player to challenge the Scottish midfielder.

Central defender claimed third place with 9.9% and 8.3% of the vote win Lukas Jutkiewicz fourth place.

Not only did the player ratings have the same four players in the top four but also in exactly the same order. Arfield's rating was 7.71 out of 10 and he was closely followed by Mee whose rating was 7.68.

Duff and Jutkiewicz took third and fourth places with ratings of 7.46 and 7.24 out of 10 respectively.

The result wins Arfield the maximum ten points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Mee has six points with four points for Duff and two points for Jutkiewicz.

Those points strengthen Arfield's early lead at the top of the player of the year table.

He now leads Jutkiewicz by 14 points with Duff a further nine points behind.

The next vote will start a week on Saturday after the West Ham game.
