It's his second such award; he was voted player of the month for December last season, and is so well deserved after his performances so far have landed him the man of the match awards for those home games against Chelsea, Sheff Wednesday and Man United.
It was another double here for our only goalscorer this season with both the man of the match and the player ratings, and he was a clear winner for the man of the match with 34.5% of the vote.
That was ahead of midfielder David Jones who was second with 18.2% while the two central defenders Michael Duff and Jason Shackell couldn't be separated, coming joint third with 15.7% of the vote each.
Those same four players took the top four places in the ratings too with Arfield again on top with a rating of 8.73 out of 10. This time Shackell edged his defensive partner; he was second with 8.52 and Duff came third with a rating of 8.33. The fourth place went to Jones with a rating of 8.29 out of 10.
Arfield wins the maximum ten points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year with Shackell scoring five points and both Duff and Jones winning four points.
The current player of the year table which is also the final table for August, shows Arfield on 27 points with a lead of 13 points over Duff who is second. Lukas Jutkiewicz is third on 12 points with Shackell the other player, on ten, getting into double figures.
