Anti-Racism 5-a-side competition

Last updated : 21 October 2003 By Tony Scholes

The National Anti-Racism Week of Action in Football started on 16th October and runs through until 28th October, the extended week meaning that all clubs will have at least one home game and Burnley’s is against Millwall on Saturday 25th October.

The following day at the Turf Moor Leisure Centre there will be the annual anti-racism 5-a-side competition organised by ‘When the Ball Moves’ and this year we are delighted to say in association with Clarets Mad.

Sponsorship has been provided by East Lancs Partnership and the European version of ‘Kick it Out’ and also Central Lancs Clarets as well as taking part have made a generous donation.

A number of teams have already entered and that already ensures a good day but if you would like to enter then it costs just £5 per team and up to seven players (including two subs) are allowed. Just email Martin Barnes from the fanzine or Clarets Mad if you want to enter or want more information.

Clarets Mad will be there covering the competition and are also entering a team from members of the message board and we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. The competition starts at 10:00 a.m.
