Another Old Trafford youngster in Turf Moor link

Recently were told you that Stan was keen on midfielders Michael Stewart and Danny Pugh along with goalkeeper Luke Steele but a third midfielder, Darren Fletcher, can be added to that list.

The 19 year-old Fletcher is a creative midfielder who represented Scotland at schoolboy level. Born in Edinburgh he joined Manchester United as an apprentice in the summer of 2000 but in the following February, on his 17th birthday he signed his first professional contract.

Although he hasn’t broken into the league side at United he has twice featured in Champions League games. The first of these was at Old Trafford against FC Basle when he played the first 73 minutes before being replaced by David Beckham.

A week later he played the full 90 minutes away to Deportivo when he was singled out after an impressive performance.

So Stewart, Pugh, Steele and now Fletcher. With Barry Kilby admitting today that we will be having a younger squad there is a chance that some of them, if not all, could be playing in claret and blue next season.
