This year the game will go ahead on Saturday 14
th July and it would be no surprise to see the Clarets use it in the way they did last season by fielding one side in the first half and another in the second half. We went 2-0 down in that game before coming back after the interval to win it 3-2.
It's always an early opportunity for the fans to get a look at any new signings without having to travel too far and again we will be visiting a League Two club in this early friendly after Stanley survived a first season in the Football League following their promotion from the conference in 2006.
The game will kick off at 3:00 p.m. and is the third pre-season game to be announced, alongside those against Middlesbrough and Bradford City, with further games to be announced soon.
