Andy to get his medal

Around a year ago Andy had his medal from that day stolen after a break in at his home and despite pleas in the media he has been unsuccessful in having it returned, but there’s good news for Andy tomorrow.

Back in April, Clarets Mad spoke to the FA to see if anything could be done and following that, and because of some sterling work behind the scenes at Turf Moor, a replacement medal has been minted for Andy and it will be presented to him by Burnley manager Steve Cotterill tomorrow.

It is the right day to present it, with Leicester the opposition, and Andy today was delighted with the help he’d received from the club. “Steve Cotterill has kindly agreed to present the medal to me on the pitch and I plan to be there with my grandson Allesandro to hand down this family heirloom,” Andy said. “It is a fantastic gesture from the club and I really have to thank Steve, the chairman and everyone behind the scenes at Burnley for all their efforts in getting another medal.”
