Andy Mitchell to leave for Bolton

It was thought that Mitch had turned down overtures from Owen Coyle last month and opted to remain at Turf Moor, as did pro-zone analyst John Brannan, but there now seems to have been a change of heart and he's now set to become the seventh member of the Burnley staff to make the journey to Horwich.

Nothing has, as yet, been confirmed by the club, but it seems very unlikely now that Mitch, who was brought in by Steve Cotterill on his appointment in the summer of 2004, will remain at Turf Moor.

This move will have almost certainly angered those behind the scenes at Turf Moor, who earlier this week were reportedly looking at the potential for taking legal action against former employees Phil Hughes and Steve Davis following their moves to Bolton.

It's bad news for the Clarets too, Mitch is rated one of the top physios in the league, a reputation that's been enhanced during his time at Turf Moor.

The current physio at Bolton is Nick Worth who held the job at Burnley during the 1997/98 season after Chris Waddle brought him from Sheffield Wednesday. He left Burnley for West Brom in the summer of 1998 and more recently rejoined Gary Megson at the Reebok.
