He's had four non-league loans, including this season's at Lincoln, but now gets the opportunity to step into a team struggling near the bottom of League Two.
Carlisle have recently appointed Keith Curle as manager and he's moved quickly to bring in Anderson for the next month.
Curle said: "We've watched Tom and we're pleased that we have him on board. He was with the Burnley first team squad through summer and he has had a very good loan spell with Lincoln very recently.
"This is the next challenge and we think he's the type of character who will take it with both hands."
