Anderson is a central defender who can also play at right back and it was on the right hand side he played in place of Michael Duff as the Clarets picked up a point from a 0-0 draw. His performance was such that he was a convincing winner in both our man of the match poll and the player ratings thread on the message board.

It was hardly a surprise to see none of the forward players in the running and as you will see the same three players took the top three places in both the poll and the ratings.

Anderson led the vote polling no less than 48.5% of the vote meaning he was a clear winner, and his full back partner Christian Kalvenes came in second with 16.3% of the vote. The third place and last point went to Graham Alexander, a player who has impressed since moving back into the defensive midfield role, and he polled 7.7% of the vote.

It was similar in the player ratings, although the second and third swapped places. Again Anderson was the winner, and a clear winner, with a rating of 7.21 out of 10. Behind in second place was Alexander with a rating of 6.76 and Kalvenes took third place with a rating of 6.68 out of 10.

That means Anderson scores six points towards the player of the year whilst there are three points each for both Alexander and Kalvenes.
