Anderson could be set to sign

Roy Keane looks all set to take West Ham's Anton Ferdinand to the Stadium of Light in a deal estimated at £8 million and that would allow Anderson to move on with suggestions on Sky Sports News this morning that he'll be joining us on a season long loan.

Given the comments from Owen Coyle last week that is presumably with an option of buying him come the end of the season.

The 29-year-old defender had played all his football for his home town team of Aberdeen before moving to the north east in the summer of 2007. But an injury kept him out of the side for a while and he's since been unable to break in to the team.

He has played Championship football, he spent time at Plymouth last season and played against the Clarets in our defeat at Home Park. That was his home debut for them and if he does sign this week he could make his home debut for the Clarets against Plymouth.
