And Then There Were Two

It appears that it is now down to a straight choice between two remaining candidates, although there has been no indication from the club as to their identity.

Mr Moore Snr.
Ronnie Moore's Claret & Blue Army?
But it looks clear that Ronnie Moore is one of them and he remains favourite for the post, as he has ever since the decision was made not to offer a new contract to Stan.

Rotherham continue to insist that there has been no approach for their manager but that now appears not to be the case. Only yesterday Moore himself has indicated that he is ready to leave Millmoor, citing the protracted takeover negotiations there.

The second candidate remains a mystery although current Cheltenham boss John Ward could still be in contention, as could a former boss at Whaddon Road, Steve Cotterill.

It appears that other candidates, such as Brian Flynn, Steve McMahon, Eric Black, John Robertson and Keith Alexander are no longer in the running to be the next Burnley manager.

The wait is almost at an end and we should all know by Tuesday whether or not it will be 'Ronnie Moore's Claret & Blue Army' for the forthcoming season.
