And then there were four

The three are midfielder Adam Jones from Rhyl along with defenders Gary Carter from London and from Coventry Daniel Pitham. They are three of just four new scholars set to join the club next season and the fourth is Australian Ryan Townsend.

Townsend is from Perth in Western Australia and is currently back in his homeland but will return to England in time to join up with Carter, Jones and Pitham for pre-season training. He had a spell training with Sheffield Wednesday before joining up with the Clarets right at the end of last season.

He played in the last two Merit League games of the season alongside Earl Davis in the centre of defence. The first of these was on the sunniest day of the year so far when we beat York at Gawthorpe – see report – and then the following week he played in the home win against Grimsby – see report – that was moved to Turf Moor.

Clarets Mad would like to say welcome to Gary, Adam and Daniel and G'Day to Ryan.
