An old tussle back again

That’s no longer the case, the league these days doesn’t include the reserve team of any club in the Premiership and now even when relegated from the top flight there is no requirement to return the reserves to our league unless you drop out of the Championship as well.

So Burnley v Manchester United in a reserve league game is a rarity, being played at Accrington Stanley’s ground (you know the milk drinkers who think they are the pride of Lancashire) is unique.

It’s not exactly Manchester United’s second team but more so the third although when we drew with them at Hyde earlier in the season, and in doing so became the first to take a poing off them, they fielded such as David Bellion, Jonathan Spector, Chris Eagles (on loan at Watford) and Kieran Richardson who is now playing Premiership football with West Brom.

There’s no team news as yet from either camp but the game kicks off at 7 o’clock tonight, provided the heavy snow that has just hit Burnley hasn’t found its way to Accy.
