Last updated : 03 June 2008 By Tony Scholes
The worst kept secret around the Football Club has finally been officially confirmed today and the Clarets will take on Stoke's partner Austin Aztex who are managed by former Clarets boss Adrian Heath and Minnesota Thunder. There is also potential for a third game to be played.

The game in Austin will be played on Wednesday 9th July and the second scheduled game against Minnesota Thunder will be played six days later on Tuesday 15th July.

Both clubs are members of the United Soccer League (USL) - Minnesota Thunder play in the First Division whilst the Aztex are scheduled to move up to the top division too in 2009 alhough they currently play in the Mid South Division of the Southern Conference.

It will mean some distance to be covered for the Clarets with the first match in Texas and the second in the north of the country in Minnesota.

It takes our current pre-season schedule to eight games, all away from home, as follows:

9th July - Austin Aztex
15th July - Minnesota Thunder
19th July - Queen of the South
21st July - Partick Thistle
23rd July - St. Johnstone
26th July - Accrington Stanley
28th July - Glentoran
30th July - Bradford City
