Sam Allardyce says ban the ITV cameras from Premiership grounds
It is thought that the Premiership with their I'm alright Jack attitude wouldn't show the slightest concern following ITV Digital going into administration and the possible loss of Nationwide League clubs. If you thought that then you would be right as up to now they have done Sweet FA to help.

That is not entirely the case and Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has come out in favour of the Nationwide clubs by suggesting that the Premiership clubs should ban ITV from their grounds until they have settled as agreed with the Football League.

It is a wonderful gesture from the Bolton boss but not one we can expect to be taken up even from his own club. Allardyce has spent most of his managerial career in the Nationwide League and understands the problems but it doesn't look as though he has been given much support as yet.

One club already cutting their cloth according to the loss of money is Bradford City where Mr. Pompous has seen the need to cut the wage bill even further with six players being told their contracts will not be renewed. Five of the six, Stuart McCall, Gareth Whalley, Gunnar Halle, Jon Worsnop and Gareth Grant were all in the sixteen for the recent game against the Clarets and they have all be told they are going along with Lee Sharpe.

Bradford might be the first but they will certainly not be the last to have to make drastic cuts to the staff just in order to survive and the likelihood is that lots of players will find themselves out of work.

What a pity more people from the Premiership are not prepared to support Sam Allardyce's idea. The clubs may well have been greedy but it is the television companies Carlton and Granada who are failing to fulfil their financial obligations.
