All change in the hot seat

Dave Jones - longest serving manager in the Championship
The Championship are leading the way with six of those changes whilst Leagues One and Two have both seen five changes. The other three, at West Ham and Liverpool besides Fulham, are in the Premier League.

Of the six in the Championship, all six of the new men have managed previously at this level and indeed two of them were forced changes after Nigel Pearson moved from Leicester to Hull. Leicester then took Paulo Sousa from Swansea with the Swans appointing former Watford and Reading boss Brendan Rodgers.

The other three changes have seen Aidy Boothroyd take over at Coventry from Chris Coleman, George Burley replace Paul Hart at Crystal Palace and Steve Cotterill move in at Portsmouth following Avram Grant's departure to West Ham.

Burnley opted not to make a change at the end of last season, allowing Brian Laws to continue after the relegation from the Premier League. It was a decision that certainly received a mixed reaction from Burnley supporters who will now be hoping that Laws has got it right as we embark on our season back in the Championship.

Below are the Championship managers for the start of the season in order of length of service at their current clubs.
