There were good performances right across the pitch for the Clarets but three players stood out to take the top three places in both the man of the match vote and the player ratings.
Out in front was left-back Ben Mee. I'm not sure he's turned in a better performance for us in his three years at Turf Moor. He was simply outstanding, capped by the brilliant header up the pitch that led to Danny Ings hitting the post and then the brilliant block to deny Callum McManaman.
His performance polled 42.0% of the man of the match vote, some way ahead of the two goalscorers who took the next two places. Michael Kightly was second. He's in a run of superb form just now and followed up his winner at Blackpool with another exceptional performance coupled with the second goal.
Kightly's share of the vote was 23.1% and in third place was Ashley Barnes, another to give us probably his best performance so far in Burnley colours which included finishing the brilliant first goal. A share of 15.0% won him third place in the vote with the ever reliable Michael Duff coming fourth with 6.9%.
Mee enjoyed the rare treat of a rating over nine. His rating was 9.12 out of 10 and he's followed Danny Ings (v QPR) and both Kieran Trippier & Sam Vokes (v Forest) in winning ratings within one of the maximum.
Kightly and Barnes were again second and third. Kightly scored a rating of 8.74 with Barnes just behind on 8.50. Fourth place this time went to Duff's central defensive partner Jason Shackell who had a rating of 8.44 out of 10.
Mee, therefore, won ten points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year with Kightly collecting six points with four points for Barnes and one each for Duff and Shackell.
That's one point closer to Vokes for Shackell. The lead is now just eight points with two games remaining.
The next vote will be for the Ipswich game with the Wigan result below followed by the current player of the year table.
