Burley has named a 26 man squad for his first game since leaving Southampton to replace Alex McLeish as Scotland boss and Alexander could be set to win his 33rd cap.

It was less than four years ago that Alexander won his first full cap for the Scots but he's been very much part of the squad since and has played in both the last World Cup and European qualifying campaigns.

There was a possibility that, following the failure to reach this summer's European finals and with the change of manager it could spell the end of his international career but Burley has today ensured that's not the case.

The full squad is: Craig Gordon (RK Sunderland), David Marshall (Norwich), Allan McGregor (Rangers), Graham Alexander (Burnley), Russell Anderson (RK Sunderland), Christophe Berra (Hearts), Gary Caldwell (Celtic), Christian Dailly (Rangers), Alan Hutton (Tottenham), James McEveley (Derby), Stephen McManus (Celtic), Gary Naysmith (Sheffield United), Scott Brown (Celtic), Barry Ferguson (Rangers), Darren Fletcher (Manchester United), Paul Hartley (Celtic), Lee McCulloch (Rangers), Stephen Pearson (Derby), Barry Robson (Celtic), Gary Teale (Derby), Kris Boyd (Rangers), Steven Fletcher (Hibs), James McFadden (Birmingham), Shaun Maloney (Aston Villa), Kenny Miller (Derby), Garry O'Connor (Birmingham).
