Alexander agrees new Turf Moor deal

Graham Alexander
He signed for us in August 2007 just after the start of the season and made his debut in a 3-2 win at Colchester. Since then he's missed just the one game, the home game against Bristol City last season when he was serving a one match suspension.

Now past his 900th game, Burnley fans will be delighted with the news that he will be at the club for another season. And just to think he signed for us because Preston were not ready to offer him anything past the summer of 2008.

That leaves just five players out of contract in the summer. Three of them, Steve Jones, Gabor Kiraly and Alan Mahon, are out on loan whilst both Adam Kay and Alex MacDonald are currently on one year deals after completing their apprenticeships a year ago.

But it's superb news to hear that Grezza has agreed a new deal.
