Claimed to be a seven figure offer we believe it was in the region of £1.1 million with a further payment to come should Sheffield United win promotion at the end of the season. It followed weeks of speculation and chairman Barry Kilby confirmed it was turned down.

News this morning is that Ade’s lawyer Gary Mellor has been in further talks with Sheffield United and he claimed that a second offer has been sent to Turf Moor, although at this time there has been no word from Burnley.

Sheffield United themselves continue to keep silent on the issue, prepared only to say they have made offers for a number of strikers with only Cameron Jerome having been named.
