Nigel Adkins - the new Southampton manager
Adkins took over as Scunthorpe manager when Brian Laws moved to Sheffield Wednesday in 2006 and has led them to two promotions into the Championship, eclipsing that last season by keeping them up.

He was approached by Southampton last week but it all seemed to come to an end when they wanted him to resign his position at Scunthorpe. That's now all been resolved and he has moved with his assistant Andy Crosby for the next three seasons.

Scunthorpe have announced that Ian Baraclough will be the caretaker manager at Glanford Park. Baraclough has been at the club since 2004 when he signed from Notts County, and has been on the coaching staff since retiring two years ago.

Scunthorpe become the sixth club to have a change of manager since the start of this season.
