Ade wins league team place

There must have been some top defensive performances up and down the league to keep out Frank Sinclair and John McGreal, who turned in outstanding performances at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.

There could never be any doubt that Ade would get in the side to add to the match ball he came home with, following his first hat trick in six years. And it was six years, almost to the day as his last triple came on 6th November 1999 for Wolves when he got all three goals in a 3-0 Molineux win against Grimsby who had Danny Coyne in goal. Ironically it came on the day of Burnley’s last visit to Luton.

Well done to Ade and shame on those who select this team for seeing the two goals conceded and leaving out our defenders.

The full team was, Ben Foster (Watford), Chris Lucketti (Preston), Ivar Ingimarsson (Reading), Patrik Gerrbrand (Leicester), Jason de Vos (Ipswich), Chris Eagles (Sheffield Wednesday), Chris Sedgwick (Preston), Kenny Lunt (Crewe), Nigel Quashie (Southampton), Ade Akinbiyi (Burnley), Steve Jones (Crewe).
