Ade wins Goal of the Month

Ade Akinbiyi
Michael Duff got our opening goal of the season with his headed equaliser in that opening day fixture against the Baggies, but it was the last goal of the month that took the honours in the first month of the season.

Ade Akinbiyi hadn't been on the pitch long when he run onto a pass from Wade Elliott and hit a shot with the outside of his right foot into the bottom corner of the net past Oldham keeper Mark Crossley to complete the scoring.

It was Ade's first goal of the season and along with goals from Andy Gray and Robbie Blake, ensured we were in the third round of the Carling Cup, and a tie with Portsmouth.

Hopefully we'll have more goals to choose from in September despite the international weekend taking yet another Saturday away from us, and already we've got two goals to include, those from Alan Mahon and Andy Gray at Colchester last week.
