Ade wins fans' award - with our help

Last updated : 09 December 2005 By Tony Scholes

During November we prompted, encouraged and even cajoled Burnley supporters into voting for Ade for this award, particularly following his superb performance and hat trick at Luton at the beginning of the month.

News has just reached us today that our voting paid off and Ade is the monthly winner, just as John McGreal was in the same month in 2004 and Richard Chaplow in December 2003, both coming again after Clarets Mad campaigns.

It’s superb news for Ade who just missed out to Sam Bangoura for the Powerade award and a Burnley supporter will be chosen to present him with this particular award at a later date. It is no wonder Ade is challenging for all these awards, he is the leading scorer in the division and is in the sort of form that prompted such as Wolves and Leicester to pay big money for him a few years ago.

He’s already in the top five for December in the current voting, John Spicer is also in that group so we could yet have another winner at the beginning of next year.

The other divisional winners this month were Wayne Rooney (Man Utd), Neil Young (Bournemouth) and Chris Doig (Northampton).
