Adams goes at Leicester

Adams took over in 2002 just as they were set to be relegated from the Premiership and has since taken them back up, thanks to their move into administration, and then back down again.

The pressure has been building after a less than successful start to the season for one of the bookies’ favourites and this morning his resignation has been accepted by the board of directors at the Walkers Stadium.

They currently sit one place behind the Clarets in the league, behind us on goal difference, but the expectation level is considerably higher especially after Adams made twelve new signings during the summer.

Things have not worked out, their only home win so far this season came against Sheffield United, and only last week they lost twice in three days at home to Preston in league and cup.

He’s been under pressure from fans who are disgruntled at the start to the season and also at the number of older players he has brought into the squad, namely Pressman, Elliott, Dabizas, Keown, Wilcox and Dublin.

Director of Football Dave Bassett has taken over on a temporary basis whilst they look for a new manager – maybe they should have tried harder to hang on to Steve Cotterill in the summer.
