Abbey is back

Abbey arrived at Burnley in January for a month but then it all went silent, he appeared on the bench a couple of times but didn’t play a game in any of our sides. There was no news at the end of the month either from Turf Moor. In reality he disappeared before the month was complete at the time Paul Rachubka arrived.

With Charlton taking Rachubka back so they could loan him to Huddersfield it means Stan has moved to ensure he has another goalkeeper for the run in other than youngster Michael Hale and Abbey is the man for the job.

It is unlikely that he will get a first team game unless Brian Jensen gets an injury or suspension but by the end of this month the transfer deadline will have passed and that would have left us unable to do anything should for the last few games of the season if needed.

Abbey will be one of the five substitutes on Saturday.
