A tale of two goalkeepers

Craig Mawson - currently at Morecambe
The club have contacted us to clear up the matter and told us that although the article on the official site said Marlon WILL be the first signing it appeared in an article that was just speculation. Following queries from so many of you yesterday we found ourselves just as confused and have succeeded in sorting the matter out.

Marlon is not the only former Burnley goalkeeper to be interesting Stan and we believe that he has been keeping tabs on Craig Mawson who left the club just over a year ago. Craig had a loan spell at Lincoln City and then moved on to Halifax Town before signing for Conference club Morecambe last summer.

It looks as though Craig has been doing some training down at Gawthorpe and has impressed so there is a chance he could return as cover for Nik Michopoulos.

In his previous spell with the club the 23 year-old keeper never made a competitive first team appearance. He didn’t get beyond the bench at Lincoln but finally made his league debut for Halifax during his spell at The Shay. He made nine appearances for Halifax and last season missed just one league game for Morecambe.
