Run by the fans for the fans, Supporters' Trusts are changing the way that football fans and football clubs communicate with one another. Positive steps have already been taken with the establishment of over 100 Trusts at clubs in England, Wales and Scotland. This is a nationwide initiative that operates with the help of the government-funded Supporters Direct organisation.
The time has now come to hear how all of us can join together to represent the interests of all Burnley fans, as well as enabling us to help the club that we support. This is a unique way for fans of all ages to get involved, so spread the word - it is important for as many people as possible to come along and discover just how this initiative can benefit our club and its supporters.
Since Clarets Mad revealed news of this proposed trust there have been further discussions with the Supporters’ Clubs and also with both the Chairman and Chief Executive of Burnley FC. All parties are keen to see this move forward and the open meeting is very close to being confirmed at a date and time that will hopefully allow a large number of Burnley supporters to attend.
Full details of the meeting will be announced on the weekend of the Preston game via the matchday programme, Burnley web sites and the local media.
