You had to go down to Derby County, in 13th place on Saturday morning, to find the first loser so there was little change in the table at either end.
Burnley's draw with leaders QPR reduced their lead at the top of the table to three points, but there is an almighty scramble developing just below them. Swansea currently occupy the second automatic promotion place but they are just two points ahead of Cardiff, Norwich and Leeds with the first two of those three having a game in hand.
Watford are the remaining team in the play off positions, just a further two points behind and with one or two games in hand on all those above them.
What looked, just a few weeks ago, a runaway promotion for QPR and Cardiff is now looking anything but with three other clubs within one win of reaching the top six.
There is no real sign of change down at the bottom with the same three clubs - Crystal Palace, Scunthorpe and Preston - in the relegation places. Only Preston, courtesy of a late equaliser, won a point but they remain seven points away from Sheffield United and safety.
We're now six points behind those play off positions and unless we can find some consistency in the coming weeks, made even more difficult with the next three league games away from home, we could be destined for a mid-table finish to the season.
