A further look at the programmes and ephemera

Such was the response that Lester and Mark, who have been instrumental in putting together the programme pages on Clarets Mad, were encouraged to produce a follow up and I'm delighted to reveal that it will be with us very soon, probably within the next month.

Rather than shorten the title for the follow up book, Lester has extended it and it will, as shown to the left, be entitled: 'A Further Look at the Programmes and Ephemera of Burnley Football Club' with Mark this time named ahead of his dad.

The book will feature programme updates, a chapter on postponed games and abandoned games and those with expunged results.

There will be more on tickets as well as magazines and annuals portraying Burnley on their front covers, and that totals more than a hundred. There's a feature on Burnley FC magazines, those that came and went without trace in the 1990s, The League Liner, commemorative first day covers and club correspondence.

You'll also find a chapter on the travel and menus, the road to the final including the 1988 Sherpa Van Trophy Final, newspaper supplements, car stickers and pennants as well as a look at the memorabilia of former Claret Eddie Mosscrop, a Burnley player either side of World War One.

The book, priced at £16.95, is expected to be available in March. Once the date is confirmed it will be published on Clarets Mad with details of how to purchase.
