£5 million ex-Claret striker set to be sold on the cheap

Lee is under contract for another year at Millmoor but has already made it clear that he won’t sign another deal and so Moore will be looking to sell as soon as possible. It has been suggested that the money raised from a sale could be put towards the ground improvements needed at the ground.

Crystal Palace and West Brom are the two clubs apparently chasing the former Claret and it is expected that Rotherham will now get less than a million pounds for him. That would represent a tremendous profit though, Lee cost them around £150,000 in November 2000 when he moved from the Turf after an initial loan period.

It could bring a windfall our way to, there was a suggestion of a sell on clause at the time he signed and so we could be picking up some extra money should he move on during the summer.

Lee has recently won a place in the Republic of Ireland squad following a season when he scored a total of sixteen goals for Rotherham.
