"I want to stay," Taylor said. "I have had a little bit of interest from clubs back in the Football League and while that may seem attractive I want to stay at Wrexham.
"Deep down that is where I want to play my football next season. The time I had there last season I thoroughly enjoyed, I managed to score some goals and I also did some coaching which was good for me.
"Wrexham are a huge club that belies its current status. We are where we are though and I want to be able to help Wrexham get their Football League status back. It will be difficult with six or eight teams set to be favourites but we have a good side and I am confident we can give it a real go next season."
It's almost seven years since Taylor left Turf Moor with his last competitive game coming for us on the last day of the 2002/03 season. Now 37 years of age he is waiting to hear back from Wrexham.
He added: "I am not panicking at the moment. I didn't get myself sorted at Wrexham last season until the end of June so it is not anything to worry about .
"It always happens this way in football, people are away and it takes time to get everything sorted out. I will just sit tight and wait for a phone call."
Should Taylor sign for Wrexham he will again line up against another former Claret in Frank Sinclair who has already committed to another season with the Welsh club.
