The high-tech system has a projector permanently fixed to the ceiling and it can be connected to the lap top computer to project the images onto the smartboard that hangs on the wall. It can be used to graphically simulate match situations as can be seen, but can also be used to rerun matches that have been recorded.

Arrangements are currently being made for a platform to be set up at Gawthorpe for recording games and this will be from the youth team right through all the Centre of Excellence teams.

With a portable projector included it means the whole system can be transported for use elsewhere, whether this be in any training camps or at Turf Moor should they decide to do any work there.

Youth coach Terry Pashley and Head of Youth Development Vince Overson have already received some training and there will be further training for all the Centre coaches ahead of the new season.

Pash and Vince were hugely enthusiastic about the system and Pash told us: β€œIt will be of tremendous help to us for player development,” whilst Vince was busy being Andy Gray and moving players around the board.

There's no doubt that all the people involved with the Year of the Youth can feel rightly proud of what we have achieved together, the enthusiasm shown by Pash and Vince, along with Centre of Excellence Administrator Jeff Taylor was enough to tell us what a good choice this system was.

We are now in negotiation with them regards buying some much needed training weights, we'll have more about them soon.
