Pool competition boosts fund

The whole idea came about after suggestions on the message board and after a stop/start period it finally got underway in December. Eventually a one day tournament was arranged for Sunday 8th February with sixteen entrants.

The whole think was arranged by Nikki and Mark (what_no_pies and 1fatclaret on the message board) and well organised it was too. The event got underway around 2:00 p.m. last Sunday with the two players on the table, leading to the final around four hours later between the aforementioned what_no_pies and Paul (dressinggown).

Nikki was the winner on the day but the real winner from an enjoyable afternoon was the Clarets Mad Youth Foundation which benefited by over £240 to help take the total of money raised to over £28,260.

We were all very well looked after by the White Hart and a big thanks to them, to Nikki and Mark for organising the day, to dressinggown for providing the photographs on this article, and of course to all those who took part or simply went to watch.

It's another event that will now almost certainly be added to the Clarets Mad Youth Foundation calendar.
