Clarets Mad enjoy brilliant weekend

Saturday saw the end of season dinner with almost 70 guests enjoying the evening in the new Hamburg Suite situated in the Jimmy McIlroy Stand. There was good food and good company to enjoy alongside four special guests and a double glazing advertiser.

Jeff Brown, as ever, expertly hosted the evening for us and there were four former Burnley League Championship winners alongside him in Mick Docherty and Paul Fletcher (1973), Vince Overson (1982) and John Francis (1992).

Andy Farrell was unable to attend, he was off on his bike ride whilst manager Owen Coyle had to send apologies due to family commitments. He sent a message of support.

It was a fantastic night that raised over £860 for our Youth Foundation and to add to that Kev Robinson handed over a cheque for £125 from the fans team towards the fund.

Some guests decided to take to the clubs in town afterwards and for some of them it was football the day after as we enjoyed Madiham III. With Big Al of BA Travel refereeing we had an eventful game that saw Hendy grab a few goals in a comfortable win for the team in red shirts. More importantly just short of £400 was raised.
