No Chico or similar nonsense, but pure football related activities during the fifteen minute interval, and activities that were well received by the crowd. There was a kids' football match between supporters of Burnley and Southampton that had those in the stands supporting their favourite teams. To add to that there was a penalty shoot out, a cross bar challenge, along with the regular half time draw, this week with Andy Farrell and the pie & chips competition.

Again the hideously loud music had kept some of us out of the ground until the last moment ahead of kick off, but half time finally brought us football activities inside a football ground, and that's how it should be. I bet those kids, both Burnley and Southampton, loved their moment out on the pitch with the support they were receiving. Now, let's do the same again, and again, and again, give more kids the chance to savour the moment of playing on the Turf and give us football.

To a large extent I missed the activities because I had the good fortune to be pitch side during the interval as Clarets Mad presented a third cheque to the youth development team. This time it was for £11,100 and that takes our current donations to £19,455 since the beginning of last season.

Karen, Steve, Kev and Andy presented the cheque to Vince Overson (Head of Youth Development) and Youth Coach Terry Pashley. Vince and Pash thanked us for our continued support, but those thanks were not for those of us involved with the site, or those who presented the cheque, but for everyone who has continued to make the youth fundraising such a success.

This latest amount will fund two development centres for this season, and will also be used for a platform to film the games, a library and some further rehab equipment.

It was good to be part of a football related half time, now Burnley FC just keep doing it.
