Sponsoring a youth team player's kit was how the Clarets Mad Youth Foundation came about. Initially our Year of the Youth it was the intention to raise £200 to sponsor a player's kit and for the 2006/07 season we chose Adam Kay who was then beginning his apprenticeship.

That fundraising has continued way beyond its initial three figure target and it is superbly timed that we can announce this continued sponsorship in the very week that the fund reached £25,000.

Already almost £20,000 of that money has been put to good use by the youth development team at Turf Moor and we'll be talking to Vince Overson and his team in the very near future to determine how the next £5,000 can best be used.

Whilst the fundraising continues, we are very proud to have our name alongside that of Adam. We wish him the very best this coming season and beyond, as we do all our players.

Adam will present us with his shirt on a match day next season and we hope that it can become a big day for Clarets Mad at Turf Moor. We'll announce details when a date is fixed.

Meanwhile the fundraising will resume before the start of next season - look out for Fantasy Premier League Mad 2008/09 and the First Goal 2008/09 Sweep which will be run for all Burnley games throughout the season.
