London prepares for the big event of the year

Last updated : 27 June 2005 By Tony Scholes

It is this Saturday 2nd July and as usual will be held at the Sekforde Arms, Sekforde Street, Clerkenwell. It all gets underway at 1:00 p.m. and will be finished by 5:30 p.m.

The AGM is London Clarets’ main summer social event and although there is formal business to conduct it is as little like a boring committee type meeting as they can make it. It is an opportunity to chew the fat with fellow Clarets and to look forward to the coming season.

This year the special guests will include the London Clarets Honorary President and former MP for Burnley Peter Pike, a representative from Supporters Direct and once again they hope to have representation from Burnley Football Club.

The meeting will give you a chance to have a say in the running of the London Clarets and not only that, we are told the beer is good and they are even going to throw in an excellent buffet.

Don’t worry if you get there early, there will be people there all day and you will be made very welcome.

The nearest underground station to the Sekforde Arms is Farringdon which is served by the Hammersmith and City and Metropolitan lines as well as the Thameslink trains. Click HERE for a map showing the location of the Sekforde Arms.
