Who was the last Claret to play for England?
The quiz is being organised by the North Manchester Clarets and is the brainchild of one of their members the Reverend David Wiseman, the author of books ‘Up the Clarets’ and ‘Vintage Clarets’ in the 1970s.

The evening entitled ‘Clarets Quiz King’ is being held in the Harry Potts Longside (aka James Hargreaves Suite) at Turf Moor on Tuesday 4th May at 7:30 p.m. and is for teams of three. Entry is £15 per team that includes a potato pie supper. For those who enter two teams or more the entry will be reduced to £10 per team. The aim is to raise £1,000 with £800 going to the Club and £200 in prizes.

Contestants will all require tickets so the North Manchester Clarets can do the estimates for catering.

The questions, there will be ten rounds of ten questions, will all be focussed on the Clarets to enable the winners to call themselves the Clarets Quiz Kings. Rev. Wiseman will be setting the questions and will act as question master on the night.

Further information is available from Rev. Wiseman and he can be contacted by phone on 01706 369622 or by post at The Manse, Norden Road, Bamford, Rochdale, Lancs, OL11 5PQ or you can click HERE to email him.

You can also click HERE to download an entry form which can be printed.

Clarets Mad are intending to have teams in the quiz and will not be accepting the reduced rate if there is more than one team.
